Well, they were stupid enough to do something drug related in Singapore. Which is known to be less than nice about all things drugs.
You don’t know their circumstance. Gun to your head you would do stupid shit too.
In fact, one of the people executed was a drug mule, ie someone who was probably in serious debt and was being blackmailed to do it.
If you are stupid enough to get into circumstances where someone puts a gun to a head in the first place. Like living in the USA or something.
